Company History
Founded in 1978 as Schmidt Associates Partners by President David L. Schmidt, and incorporated in 1988, SAI has always maintained an eye to future needs and opportunities. Recognizing the opportunities provided by the AT&T divestiture in 1984, SAI began specializing in the new field of telemanagement software.
SAI was the first company to develop telemanagement software in the UNIX environment, was a leader in adopting modern programming techniques, and is still the leader in adopting and integrating current technology into its products and services.
The company's Sierra Gold Virtual Telemanagement System™ (VTS™), developed for the Windows NT platform, was the first call accounting application to take advantage of Web technology via the Internet and corporate intranets. The integration of Web technology into SAI's Sierra Gold Virtual Telemanagement System in 1995 further established SAI's reputation as an innovator in the telemanagement industry.
In the last 12 months alone SAI has introduced revolutionary advances such as dynamic reports and automated data entry (DataWizard), further solidifying our reputation as the industry's innovation leader. This track record of innovation has been recognized with Teleconnect "Product of the Year" awards in both 1997 and 2000.
Since 1995 SAI has extended the capabilities of its VTS system to create the industry's first telemanagement ASP service (Application Service Provider). Today SAI employs the latest technologies, including VoIP, LDAP, XML, Java, DHTML and others to bring to its customers the greatest benefits possible from leading edge technology. And SAI's thin client hosting can provide all these services via Web browsers, making them platform independent and eliminating the costly maintenance associated with desktop applications.
